A variant of the Big Muff circuit, the Supa Tone V2 offers more low gain settings on the sustain control, making it easier to dial in a growly tone. The mids switch has been changed to a guitar/bass switch, guitar mode is a classic scooped sound like the original ’74 fuzz, and bass mode preserves all of the brutal bass throughout the tone control’s sweep. V1 simply toggled between scooped and flat. Version 2 is very different!
When used for bass, you’ll get a grindy, tubey distortion that stays in the pocket, along with a fuzzed attack which is still punchy and retains the normal decay envelope. All the low end is preserved in bass mode, so the tone control becomes a treble control and doesn’t thin out the tone, even when turned all the way up.
When used for guitar, you’ll get a rough, unrefined, grinding, low-gain fuzz.
