This year sees a series of guitars from Fender celebrating the 60th anniversary of the release of the Jazzmaster model in 1958. Over the years the Fender Jazzmaster has become one of the most iconic instruments from the companies golden era. Initially introduced as the top of the line model designed to replace the Stratocaster, the Jazzmaster quickly found favour with more alternative or avant-garde musical styles, and has been the instrument of choice for many inspirational guitarists throughout its history. The three models released for the Jazzmasters 60th anniversary take influence from the models of the past while ensuring that the Jazzmaster continues to be the go to guitar for style and innovation.
The 60th Anniversary Classic Series Jazzmaster range is based on the mid 1960's block and bound neck, matching headstock Jazzmaster models that were produced by Fender at the time. Featuring period correct finishes and white pearloid block inlays, these guitars are as effortlessly cool as ever. The mid 60's matching headstock Jazzmasters have become extremely collectable in recent years, and the 60th Anniversary Classic Series Jazzmaster utilises that iconic style and is available in a choice of four authentic 60's custom colour finishes - Fiesta Red, Vintage Blonde, Black & Daphne Blue.
The 60th Anniversary Classic Series Jazzmaster comes equipped with two Classic Series Single Coil Jazzmaster pickups that offer authentic recreations of a vintage Jazzmaster sound. When combined with the switchable Lead & Rhythm circuitry, there are few guitars as tonally versatile as a Jazzmaster, covering everything from deep, warm neck pickup tones to punchy, biting sounds from the bridge, all while retaining fantastic clarity.
The neck profile is a modern 'C' shape with a 9.5" fretboard radius, giving the player a more comfortable playing experience. Other vintage inspired features include the traditional six saddle adjustable bridge with floating tremolo tailpiece, vintage style tuners and a 4 ply tortoiseshell pick guard. All 60th Anniversary Jazzmaster models also include a hard case.
Available only in 2018 and in limited numbers, the 60th Anniversary Classic Series Jazzmaster range draws on the legacy left by the much sought after 1966 Jazzmasters, and ensures that the Jazzmaster remains the go to guitar for creative players.
