Model Overview:

Comprising a truly original tone and feel, the Fender Telecaster is one of the most versatile guitars ever made and has been used to make every type of music since its first release in the early 1950's. The new American Original series from Fender builds on every aspect of the companies illustrious past, encompassing the same passion for design, tone and innovation as those first Telecasters did, continuing to be the instrument of choice for the working musician. The Fender American Original series maintains the styling and tone of the original Fender guitars that revolutionized popular music, with a more modern feel and contemporary pickup switching.

Designed to be as period correct as possible, the American Original 60’s Telecaster in Fiesta Red is based on the extremely sought after double bound Telecasters with Rosewood boards that Fender produced from 1960 onwards. Comprised of a double bound Alder body and Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard, the American Original 60’s Telecaster also features uniquely 60’s finishes in nitrocellulose lacquer, allowing the wood to breathe and the finish to age naturally. The American Original 60’s Telecaster also features Pure Vintage ’64 Gray Bottom single coil Telecaster pickups, with cloth covered output wire, fiber bobbins and alnico V magnets, just as they would have had in ‘64. On top of this, a copper shielded bridge pickups adds some bite to the sound, and staggered pole pieces provide a much more balanced sound. Authentically capturing that classic 60's sound, the American original 60's Telecaster pickups are the perfect recreation of vintage Tele tone.

The ‘C’ shaped neck profile is full and familiar feeling, similar to the more modern 'C' shape profile of other Fender models, and the American Original 60’s Telecaster in Fiesta Red also benefits from a 9.5” fingerboard radius giving the player a more modern feel across the neck. Additional vintage spec features include vintage tall profile frets, a three ply pickguard, vintage style hardware and a 3 barrel bridge. All Fender American Original series guitars also include a period correct hard shell case.

The Fender American Original 60’s Telecaster in Fiesta Red is a modern take on one of Fenders most elegant 1960's instruments, retaining all the style and tonal range that is still making Telecasters the go to guitar for players around the world.
