Earthquaker Devices are arguably the most well known boutique effects pedal maker in the world, with a selection of pedals that is hugely diverse and encompasses both functionality and insanity in equal measure. All of their pedals are lovingly handmade in Akron, Ohio.
The Earthquaker Devices Tentacle is an all analog octave up pedal that is about as simple as it gets. The Tentacle has no controls whatsoever, just a foot switch that when engaged unleashes righteous octave up tones that pair perfectly with any drive or fuzz, and can be combined with a plethora of effects if you're in to getting experimental. Created from exactly the same octave circuit as used in Earthquakers Hoof Reaper pedal, the Tentacle is the result of high demand for a standalone effect of that sound. As with all analog octave pedals the Tentacle is not without its quirks, and tracks best when you are playing on the neck pickup of your guitar and above the 12th fret.
The Tentacle also features Earthquaker Devices' new Flexi-Switching technology, meaning the pedal can be used in both momentary and latching foot switch modes.
