Earthquaker Devices are arguably the most well known boutique effects pedal maker in the world, with a selection of pedals that is hugely diverse and encompasses both functionality and insanity in equal measure. All of their pedals are lovingly handmade in Akron, Ohio.
The Earthquaker Devices Ghost Echo has been meticulously engineered to replicate the classic sounds of vintage amp top reverb units. As with everything from the team at Earthquaker, the Ghost Echo can be used in a number of differing ways, and can function as both a realistic spring style reverb, slap back echo and haunting, cavernous, oscillating noise maker. The 'Attack' control adjusts the pre delay time from 30-150ms, covering everything from short and subtle 50's slap back style sounds to dreamy soundscape reverbs. The 'Dwell' control adjusts the decay time of the reverb, which can add body to the decaying tone. As the knob is moved further clockwise the Ghost Echo will begin to self oscillate, creating very musical feedback loops that you are able to alter the pitch of by tweaking the 'Attack' control. The 'Depth' control you to blend together your wet and dry signal for perfectly fine tuning your tone.
The Earthquaker Devices Ghost Echo is a unique take on a traditional spring style reverb pedal, while also remaining a faithful recreation of the classic spring tanks of yesteryear.
- Attack: Adjusts the length of the pre-delay, from 30ms at minimum to about 150ms at maximum. When the Dwell is set to self-oscillate, this will change the pitch of the oscillations.
- Dwell: Adjusts the length of the decay. This will start to self-oscillate around 3 O’Clock, the pitch of the oscillations can be changed by turning the Attack control.
- Depth: Mixes in the wet signal with the dry, unity is around noon and everything after is boosted.
- Powered by any standard 9V DC centre negative power supply
