Since the early 80's infamous 'JV' models, Fender Japan has had a reputation for building some of the best vintage spec Stratocaster reissues around. A 3 Tone Sunburst Strat is undoubtedly one of the most iconic instruments ever made, and can be seen in the hands of some of the most revered players across countless genres. This Fender Japan ST62 Stratocaster offers period correct vintage features and looks for an affordable price, with the kind of build quality that has made Japanese instruments so sought after by players.
This 2010 - 2011 Fender Japan ST62 Stratocaster is a wonderful example of the more recent MIJ models. Featuring a traditional Alder body with a Maple neck and slab Rosewood fingerboard, this guitar has a comfortable 1960's style 'C' neck profile, feeling familiar and easy to get around for all players, and if anything is slightly fuller feeling than other MIJ 'C' shaped neck profiles we've played. The three single coil pickups are upgraded Fender Texas Specials, offering a hotter, more bluesy and vintage voiced output than traditional Japanese Stratocaster models. As with all Fender Japan models, this guitar is finished exceptionally, with a timeless 3 Tone Sunburst finish that looks authentically vintage, and a nice dark piece of Rosewood for the board. Other features include a three ply white pick guard, Kluson style tuners and cream aged plastic parts.
