Originally introduced in 1961, the HD-16 was intended to be an affordable Martin option that still encompassed the Martin values of high quality craftsmanship and tone. With specifications comparable to the Martin HD-28 models, the HD-16R is a great US made Martin for a fraction of the price of some other models in their range. Featuring an Adirondack Spruce top and solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides, the HD-16R has a beautifully balanced sound and projects and resonates with the signature sound of a great Martin Dreadnought. This guitar plays extremely well, with the standard taper neck feeling comfortable and familiar. Other features include fine Herringbone inlay and the traditional Style 28 soundhole rosette to complete the classic Martin look.
