As the popularity of Fender Mustang models steadily increases, no doubt largely due to Fenders recent reissue line, vintage spec Mustang guitar have again become sought after by players for their 60's look and feel. As was the case with both Jazzmasters and Jaguars in recent years, the search for a true vintage spec instruments leads many players to the craftsmanship of Japanese made Fender guitars . This 2006-2008 CIJ Japanese MG65 Mustang in Red is a perfect example of the great instruments produced by Fender Japan.
Made using a Poplar body and maple neck with slab Rosewood fingerboard, this Mustang features a slightly darker red finish than is traditionally found on Mustangs, and comfortable 'C' profile neck shape with vintage-correct 7.25" fretboard radius. As with all Mustangs, the 24" scale length only adds to their playability. The original grey bottom pickups offer a classic Mustang single coil sound, with all the bite and clarity of a vintage Mustang, along with the endless tonal possibilities of the phase switching pickup selectors that makes them unlike any other Fender model. The vintage style Mustang vibrato offers a playability unlike either the traditional offset vibrato or a Strat tremolo. Other features include a vintage style white pearloid pick guard and metal button Kluson style tuners.
