This Fender Custom Shop 1960 Closet Classic Stratocaster in Lake Placid Blue shows the work of the Fender Custom Shop at its best, with an instrument that sounds and feels like it has just stepped out of the 60's. Pairing a select Alder Body with a Quarter Sawn Maple Neck and Rosewood fretboard, this Custom Shop 1960 Stratocaster is Closet Classic reliced by Custom Shop team. This level of finishing is designed to give the look of a vintage instrument that has been very well looked after, with only the mildest amount of lacquer checking visible.
The neck is a mid 60's oval C profile which gives an immediately comfortable and familiar feel and is finished with a AAA grade slab rosewood fingerboard and vintage style frets. The body is outfitted with 3 Custom Shop Hand Wound 1960 spec single coil pickups with the middle pickup being Reverse Wound Reverse Polarity allowing for hum-cancelling in positions two and four of the five way selector switch. The pickups have a distinctly vintage tone to them, which when combined with the feel of the instrument makes for a guitar that gets incredibly close to playing a genuine vintage instrument.
Condition / Originality:
This guitar is in very good used condition, and was owned by a session guitarist who received it as a gift from the Fender custom shop. It is all original but does display some signs of play wear as shown in the pictures. The guitar retains its original brown tolex case and Custom Shop certificate of authenticity.
