Introduced in 1962 as one of Fenders deluxe models of the 60's, the short scale Fender Jaguar initially found favour with surf musicians due to its unique tone, and later became a favourite with alternative musicians throughout the years. While the majority of Fenders current offset range offering more modern tones and features, Japanese made Fender instruments retain the character and tone of classic vintage Fender instruments. This MIJ 1996-97 Fender Japan JG66 Jaguar combines all the quality you would expect from a Japanese made instruments with the vintage vibe of a classic early 60's Fender.
This MIJ Jaguar features a traditional Alder body finished in a classic 3 Tone Sunburst finish, and its serial number indicates that it would have been one of the last run of 90's MIJ labelled guitars before the company moved to 'Crafted in Japan.' The Maple neck features a 60's style 'C' shape profile with vintage style 7.25" radius and 24" scale length for authentic vintage feel, while the Rosewood fingerboard is in good condition. The vibrato system is fitted with an aftermarket Buzz Stop tailpiece, increasing the break angle behind the bridge for better stability and playability. The pickups have the chime and character associated with vintage Jaguars, with the dual rhythm and lead circuitry giving you a world of tonal options. This Jaguar also features Japanese made Kluson style tuners and a vibrant red 60's style tortoiseshell guard.
