The Japanese vintage guitar market has been steadily growing for a number of years, with so called 'lawsuit' instruments of the 70's and 80's garnering a reputation for being not only incredibly accurate recreations of their US made equivalents, but very high quality instruments in their own right. The Greco company has produced some of the best Gibson style instruments to come out of Japan, with their Les Paul models being especially highly regarded. This 1982 Greco Les Paul Standard "Super Power" features many of the specs found on US models of the same period, with a comparable build quality at a fraction of the price.
Manufactured in Japan's Fugijen factory, this Greco Les Paul features a Sycamore top with Mahogany body a traditional Gibson style medium tenon set neck construction. As with most Greco Les Pauls of this era, this instruments features Maxon made UD humbucker pickups that date to late 1981, offering a classic vintage voiced output with great definition. The open book headstock design, cream binding, pearloid fretboard inlays and knobs all look authentically Gibson, and the guitar features a set of Kluson style tulip button tuners that are in full working order.
