1979 Rickenbacker 4001 Mapleglo

Product ID: P-13130

Model Overview:

The Rickenbacker 4001 bass is surely one of the most iconic instruments of the last 50 years. The 4001 is the deluxe brother of the original 4000 bass, with two pickups and the unique and distinctive cresting wave body shape. With a classic Rickenbacker tone that can be heard on countless rock and funk recordings, the 4001 has a punchy sound and a great deal of tonal versatility available with the Rick-O-Sound dual mono and stereo output.

A great sounding instrument that is relatively lightweight an comfortable to play, the Rickenbacker 4001 was the companies flagship bass guitar from 1961 until it was discontinued in 1980, making this 1979 model one of the last years of production.

Condition & Originality:

This guitar is in great all original condition, and retains its original pickups, pickguard and tuning machines. The instrument has certainly seen some use in its time, and while it has some play wear and scratches to the finish it is no more than you would expect from an instrument of this age, and still plays and sounds great with plenty of character. Also included is a hard case.
