Initially introduced in 1969 as the single coil Type 1 model, 1972 was the first full production year for the Type 2 Thinline, featuring the much sought after Fender Wide Range Humbuckers. This example from 1972 features a nicely figured Swamp Ash body, original Pearloid guard and the single f-hole design that gives this model such a distinctive look and tone. This example is in excellent overall condition showing very little cosmetic wear with only some minor scuffs to the finish, and is both internally and externally original. The neck is a comfortable '70s style 'C' maple neck with 3 bolt micro tilt neck plate and bullet truss rod adjuster.
This 1972 Fender Thinline Telecaster is an ideal choice for a range of playing styles, with Thinlines having been used by countless musicians due to their tonal versatility, with the definition and clarity of Wide Range Humbuckers making them as at home with your cleanest amp as they are with your dirtiest fuzz pedal.
