First released in 1958, the Jazzmaster was introduced as Fenders new top of the line instrument, and although it never quite surpassed the Stratocaster or Telecaster in terms of popularity the Jazzmaster went on to be an iconic instrument in its own right. Iconic thorough the 60's for its association with surf music and the unique custom colour finishes that came along with that, the Jazzmaster has been firmly adopted as the creative tool of choice for alternative musicians. The price of original 60's Jazzmasters continues to increase rapidly making them both a sound investment and one of the coolest vintage guitars around.
This 1965 Fender Jazzmaster is one of the finest examples we have had in store, in amazing condition for its age and featuring the much sought after original Lake Placid Blue custom colour finish. Although the finish does exhibit some very minor signs of ageing and checking, it is in fantastic overall condition for an instrument of its age. The neck stamp dates the guitar to August 1965, and it retains all its original hardware and electronics.
The pickups have all the usual clarity and definition of Jazzmaster single coils, and respond very well to a driven amp. The Volume and Tone pots date to late 1964 and mid 1965 respectively. The original Rosewood veneer fingerboard is in excellent condition. This guitar also includes its original hard case, tremolo arm, bridge cover and hang tags, making it truly the complete package for players and collectors alike and representing a one of a kind opportunity to own a custom colour Jazzmaster in stunning condition.
