Introduced in 1959 and intended as an upgraded replacement for the Stratocaster, the Fender Jazzmaster never really found favour with players at the time, but has become somewhat of a cult icon in the last 30 years, forming the sound of alternative music throughout the 80's, 90's and 00's. As vintage prices steadily rise, Japanese made Fender instruments have provided a more affordable option for many players looking for vintage spec instruments. This 1995 - 1996 Fender Japan JM66 Jazzmaster in Black pairs Japanese playability with authentically vintage Fender looks.
This Crafted in Japan Fender Jazzmaster features a 60's style 3 Tone Sunburst finish, in good condition and offering a sleek and classic look to the instrument. The Maple neck sports a comfortable 60's style 'C' shape profile with vintage style 7.25" radius while the Rosewood fingerboard is in good condition, with plenty of life left in the frets. The pickups have all the clarity and warmth of their 60's counterparts, offering unparalleled tonal versatility with the unique dual rhythm and lead circuitry. The traditional Jazzmaster vibrato unit combines with a traditional threaded saddle bridge for a classic offset style vibrato, and this Jazzmaster is finished off with Japanese made Kluson style tuners and a 60's style tortoiseshell guard.
