It’s a new year for us at Vintage Guitar Boutique, and with the New Year comes fantastic new gear from the 2017 NAMM show in Anaheim, CA.

We’re kicking off 2017 with a bevy of beautiful brand new instruments from Gretsch, and here’s what you need to know about them.

Straight out of the gate, Gretsch have updated their Professional series with the Vintage Select line; faithful reproductions of year specific guitars. Oozing with old school Americana, the Vintage Select G6128T-53 comes in a classic Black paintjob, complimented by a stained Maple headstock veneer topped off with Gretsch’s classic Script logo. Other cool appointments include TV Jones T-Armond pickups, block inlays and a Pinned Rosewood bridge base, no more fiddling around during string changes!

The G6128T-57 is a true thing of beauty, Cadillac Green with gold hardware and a Banjo style armrest, it’s a Gentleman’s player. Also outfitted with the TV Jones T-Armond pickups, the ’57 sounds as clear as it is clean cut.Gretsch G6128T-57 DuoJet Bigsby Cadillac Green

Gretsch have also expanded on their Electromatic line, with the Center Block Double Cut G5622T guitars. Fitted with the Super HiLo’Tron pickups, these guitars allow you to come closer to those saturated overdrive tones, without the high risk of feedback. The G5622T guitars are available in Black, Vintage Orange, Georgia Green and Walnut.

Last year we were pleasantly surprised with the affordable Streamliner range, and we’re excited to see this line grow in 2017 with more colour options. With the warm Broad’Tron pickups and neat 50’s styling, we were blown away by their bang for buck quality. The G2622T is now available in Brooklyn Burst, and the G2622 in Black.

The small-yet-mighty Streamliner Center Block Juniors have also been updated with Golddust for the G2655T, and Torino Green for the G2655.

Finally, the hollow body G2420s are now available in Walnut Stain (G2420T) and Black (G2420).

For the acoustic aficionado, the new G5022C Falcon Jumbo and G5021C Penguin Parlour guitars offer style like only a Gretsch can, at a very comfortable price. These slick acoustics feature cuts of Solid Spruce for the Soundboard, and Fishman Isys III pre-amp systems.

Finally, the Roots Collection is seeing three new additions in the form of a Parlour (Style 1), Auditiorium (Style 2) and Grand Concert Double 0 (Style 3) set of guitars. Finished in Appalachia Cloudburst, these new guitars call back to Gretsch’s early days. Perfect for fingerstyle players, the Roots guitars produce a wonderfully articulate and rounded timbre, and would be the perfect choice for an affordable, small bodied mid-level instrument.
